When Your Part Needs an Additional Process

Start with the feature that needs a dedicated cutting method and the drawing information that defines it.

Wire EDM for Conductive-Part Profiles

Wire EDM services can be reviewed for through-profiles in electrically conductive materials, including features where conventional cutting-tool access is restricted.

Define the Profile and Part Thickness

Provide the required contour, material thickness and critical dimensions. Identify internal cutouts, narrow sections and any specified taper.

Review Wire Access and Internal Corners

Internal cutouts generally require a start hole or another wire-entry route. Finite wire diameter and the discharge gap also limit achievable internal corner radii.

Specify Surface and Final Condition

State the material condition, heat-treatment status and required surface quality. Identify any restrictions on the EDM-affected surface or subsequent finishing requirements.
Material:Grade, conductivity and current condition. Geometry:Thickness, contour, internal radii and taper where required. Access:Internal cutouts and available wire-entry route . Acceptance:Profile tolerances, datums and surface requirements.

EDM wire cutting produces through-cuts along the wire path, not blind pockets. Feasibility is confirmed for your drawing and available equipment

Gear Hobbing for Verified Gear Types

Gear hobbing services for custom gears are reviewed against tooth geometry, blank design and available tooling.

Internal gears and shoulder-restricted features may require a different process, such as gear shaping. They are not automatically included in the hobbing scope.

Drilling and Threading Requirements

Specify drilling and tapping services around the finished feature, its datums and mating components.

Process Selection and Inspection

Coordinate secondary machining after CNC milling or turning, with critical features tied to the approved drawing.
Gear inspection, special surface checks and dimensional reports must be agreed during quotation. Inspection coverage is not assumed to be identical across processes.
